Description
Revive Roller Conditioner is a low viscous liquid designed for the conditioning of mixed/hybrid NBR based compound rubber surfaces for better UV ink receptivity.
It is essential that new rollers are conditioned prior to first use following recent changes to the formula of UV inks.
In addition, it is highly recommended to condition rollers when changing from conventional inks to UV curable inks.
Revive Roller Conditioner will also act as a protector.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR PRE-CONDITIONING NEWLY FITTED ROLLERS FOR UV PRINTING
Newly installed mixed ink printing rollers absorb components of UV inks at the beginning of UV use. This can lead to issues on ink transfer and disturbances in drying behaviour of UV inks.
In order to avoid such issues and to get an even ink transfer of the mixed ink printing rollers from the start, it is essential to pre-condition the rollers before using UV inks for the first time.
Using Revive Roller Conditioner is essential for conditioning new rollers prior to UV printing:
- Normal wash up with suitable mix wash
- 8 hours or one night down time
- 4 hour running time with Revive Roller & Blanket Conditioner again
- Normal wash up with suitable mix wash
- Printing jobs with suitable UV inks
- It would also be helpful to print first jobs with high colour needs
Apply neat on to the rollers and run for a few hours at idle speed (approx. 3000 iph). Dampening form rollers should run on contact with inking unit so that they are also pre-conditioned. We recommend cycles of 2 x 4 hours running-in time with a break of approx. 8 hours or one shift in between. During running with Revive Roller Conditioner dry running must be prevented: Rollers need to have a complete and even wetting without splashing on roller edges. When run cycles are finished rollers can be washed up manually or using an automatic washing system. After completing the second conditioning and cleaning cycle printing with UV inks may commence.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR CONDITIONING WHEN SWITCHING FROM CONVENTIONAL TO UV PRINTING
Conditioning Ink Rollers
When changing from conventional ink apply the normal wash up procedure. Once the rollers are dry apply Revive Roller Conditioner on the rollers. Allow the liquid to run in throughout the ink roller train for approx. 5 minutes. Ensure a complete and even wetting of the rollers. Remove the excess using a dry cloth and commence printing.
Revive Roller Conditioner Benefits:
Improves UV ink receptivity • Yields excellent stability on press • Solvent free • Less hazardous • Easy to apply • Better transfer of UV inks • Increased productivity
