Paul Kowalik Retirement Marks the End of an Era at BFS Pressroom Solutions
Celebrating the career of our long-serving Technical Director
At the end of May 2026, BFS Pressroom Solutions celebrated the retirement of our Technical Director, Paul Kowalik. His retirement marks the end of an incredible career spanning more than 35 years with the business.
Paul joined BFS in 1990 at just 29 years old. Before joining the company, he worked as a professional club golfer and golf coach. Looking back, Paul describes his first impressions of the business as “overwhelming”. However, what followed was an outstanding career built on hard work, innovation and commitment.
Building a Career Through Innovation
Paul began his journey by establishing and managing the company’s light engineering department. His responsibilities included grinding, CNC wire erosion and injection moulding. Starting from scratch, he helped create a successful operation that became an important part of the business.
Later, Paul set up the BFS blanket converting operation. To achieve this, he spent a week in Germany learning every stage of the manufacturing process. By the following Monday, the new operation was already running successfully. His drive and determination became hallmarks of his career.
Paul also played a key role in the successful relocation of the BFS Roller Division. Throughout every challenge, he remained focused on delivering practical solutions and maintaining the highest standards.
A Lasting Contribution to BFS Pressroom Solutions
During his career, Paul helped shape the business we know today. He consistently demonstrated the values that define BFS Pressroom Solutions. His customer-focused approach, technical knowledge and willingness to embrace change earned the respect of colleagues, customers and suppliers alike.
Reflecting on his career, Paul said his greatest memories are the relationships he has built over the years.
“The relationships built over the years with suppliers, customers and my colleagues.”
Looking Ahead to Retirement
Although Paul is retiring from BFS Pressroom Solutions, he has plenty to keep him busy.
When asked about his plans, he said:
“I’ll be spending more time playing golf and completing some DIY projects, which is a real passion of mine… and embracing whatever the next chapter of my life throws at me.”
Everyone at BFS Pressroom Solutions would like to thank Paul for his dedication, leadership and outstanding contribution over the past three decades. His knowledge, professionalism and friendship have left a lasting legacy across the business.
We wish Paul a long, happy and well-deserved retirement. He will be greatly missed by everyone at BFS.
