At BFS Pressroom Solutions, we recognise that our greatest asset is our people, and today we’re shining a spotlight on two of our longest-serving team members at the BFS roller factory at Haverhill, Suffolk.
When BFS acquired Tyke Rollers in 2007, we were delighted to welcome Mitch (pictured left) and Steve (right) to the business. Mitch originally joined Tyke Rollers in 1988, with Steve following just a year later in 1989. Between them, they have dedicated almost 75 years to manufacturing high-quality rollers for customers.
We asked them to share a little more about them and their experience, starting with the question: “Tell us something interesting about yourself?”
Mitch shared that, out of his three brothers, he’s the only one who’s managed to keep a full head of hair! So maybe his career choice has been a good one for his hair follicles.
Outside of work, you’ll often find him DJ’ing or planning his next holiday. When asked what he loves most about working at BFS, his answer was simply “the people”.
Steve, true to his nature, described himself as “just a quiet person.” Away from the factory, he enjoys nothing more than getting lost in a good book. And just like Mitch, when we asked what makes BFS special, his answer was again, “the people”. Another little fact that we admire about Steve is that he cycles to work everyday, come rain or shine.
It’s fantastic to see that after all these years, it’s the friendships and colleagues that stand out most. Mitch and Steve’s loyalty, knowledge and commitment have played an important part in the success of our Haverhill factory, and we’re incredibly grateful for everything they continue to contribute.
